Jadakiss Announces New Family Coffee Business Kiss Café

Jadakiss has announced a new coffee business, Kiss Café, with his father Bob Phillips and son Jaewon Phillips. Bob has been in the business since 1977. Twelve years into his career, he became CEO of Caturra Corp., a boutique importing and trading firm that specializes in international green coffees.

"This is one of my proudest professional and personal achievements,” Bob said in a press release. “There is no greater honor than taking what you’ve learned in this life and inspiring your family to join you and bring that pursuit to the next level.”

Jaewon, who joined the business in 2018, added: “Kiss Café is authentic. It’s real. No gimmicks. It’s been in our family for well over 40 years and everything we do here is from the core.”

Dee Barnes Saves "Pump It Up!" Archives From Auction

Former "Pump It Up!" host Dee Barnes is reveling in gratitude after she was able to save her archives from auction. The trailblazing journalist, who was not only the first Black woman but first woman (period) to host a Hip Hop video show on a major network, notified her fans her collection was in peril earlier this month.

Nas Unveils Release Date + Cover Art For "King's Disease III"

Nas has unveiled the cover art and release date for "King's Disease III," the follow-up to 2021's "King's Disease II." According to an Instagram post shared on Tuesday (October 18), the highly anticipated project will arrive on November 11 with executive production once again provided by Hit-Boy. 

The original "King's Disease" album arrived in 2020 with contributions from Charlie Wilson, Hit-Boy, Big Sean, Don Toliver, Lil Durk, Anderson .Paak, Brucie B, Nas's supergroup the Firm, Fivio Foreign and A$AP Ferg.

John Forté Issues Call-To-Action For Legendary Streetwear Designer Alyasha Owerka-Moore

Fugees affiliate and brilliant singer-songwriter John Forté is asking for support for his friend and legendary streetwear designer Alyasha Owerka-Moore. According to an Instagram post shared on Monday (October 17), Owerka-Moore is currently undergoing treatment for Stage 3 colon cancer. As a result, his family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with medical costs. 

The description explains: "Alyasha Owerka-Moore was diagnosed with colon cancer in early August 2022, after a routine checkup. Treatment began immediately and a few weeks later Alyasha underwent a colectomy procedure to remove a cancerous mass. Post-surgery, a biopsy of the mass further revealed that the cancer had advanced into stage 3 and that testing of the lymph nodes would also be necessary. The oncology

Hip Hop Celebrates Eminem's 50th Birthday

Eminem celebrated his 50th revolution around the sun on Monday (October 17) and par for the course, a myriad of his fans are paying tribute on social media to celebrate his legendary career. 

Born Marshall Mathers in 1972, Eminem spent his formative years Detroit, Michigan but didn't have an easy life. His parents divorced when he was a child and he lived in poverty with his mother, often in predominately Black neighborhoods. After being introduced to Hip Hop by his Uncle Ronnie, Eminem set his sights on rapping and eventually released his debut EP, the "Slim Shady EP," in 1997. Interscope Records CEO Jimmy Iovine ultimately got his hands on it and played in for Dr. Dre—and the rest is history.

Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E.'s Monsta O Has Died

Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. bassist Monsta O—real name Danny Devoux—reportedly died on October 12 at the age of 56, although the cause of death hasn't been disclosed. 

Originating in Carson, California, the West Coast gangsta rap group was comprised of Ted, Paul, Donald, Roscoe, Danny, David and later, Vincent Devoux (who eventually replaced David). 

In the 2000s, Monsta O joined Death Row Records as part of the production crew “Row Hitters" alongside Darren Vegas and Jim Gittum. Together, they worked on 2Pac’s posthumous album "Until The End Of Time," Tha Dogg Pound's 2002 album and early KXNG Crooked solo material. Monsta O and the rest of the T.R.I.B.E. also collaborated with Eminem, B-Real and others on 2003’s "West Coasta Nostra."
