MC Serch Is Selling His Portion Of Nas' Catalog

MC Serch executive produced two of Nas' most iconic albums—1994's "Illmatic" and 1996's "It Was Written"—and now, the 3rd Bass legend is selling his portion of them. Speaking to AllHipHop, Serch explained he's retained the the rights for nearly three decades. 

"I have decided to sell all of the rights, including the global rights,” he said. “I started conversations with several companies a few months ago. For 27 years, it has provided my family through good times and bad. Now it’s time for a new chapter.”

Living Legends MC Eligh Celebrates 17 Years Of Recovery

Living Legends MC/producer Eligh, who often raps alongside fellow Legend The Grouch as G&E, is celebrating 17 years clean. The California native shared the news via Twitter on Thursday (October 13) with a post that read: "It’s been 17 years since I made the decision to go to rehab. 17 years since I drank a beer, or hit some weed, or smoked some heroin..I know who I am. Only through walking the road of recovery am I still here, celebrating another year clean. Grateful." 

In a 2010 interview with RAPstation's Kyle Eustice, Eligh said: "I am proud of that shit. I will profess it to everybody. I like to lead by example. People are inspired by it. I just tell my experience and live it in front of people. Hopefully it influences people in a positive way.”

Immortal Technique Continues Rebel Army Runs Fundraiser

Immortal Technique was in Harlem on Wednesday (October 12) where he and fellow rhymer Swave Sevah handed out 80 food packs as part of his Rebel Army Runs initiative. As he explained via Twitter, "Today my brother @SwaveSevah_and I made 80 food packs for the @rebelarmyruns Harlem mission that will take place tomorrow. Thank you to everyone that donated we are a 501c3 and your donations are tax deductible."

Mt. Westmore Finally Announces Debut Album Streaming Release Date

Mt. Westmore—the supergroup comprised of Snoop Dogg, Too $hort, E-40 and Ice Cube—released its debut album, "Bad MFs," in June, but it was only available in the metaverse (meaning it was wayyyyyy too expensive). Now, the West Coast legends have finally revealed when it will be available to the masses via digital streaming platforms. 

On Tuesday (October 11), Mt. Westmore shared an Instagram post announcing  a single from the album called "Too Much" is scheduled to arrive on October 21. The caption read: "This is not a drill…'TOO BIG' by @mount_westmore on all platforms October 21st. Look for the @mount_westmore album: 'SNOOP, CUBE, 40, SHORT' to hit the streets on December 9th @snoopdogg, @icecube, @e40, @tooshort."
