Bow Wow Announces Retirement From Music

Shad Gregory Moss, a.k.a. Bow Wow, concluded his recent tour of Australia by announcing that he's retiring from rap, reportedly to focus on his acting career.

"Retirement only means that it is time for a new adventure... over 10 million sold. This the last one. THANK YOU," Bow Wow posted on Instagram. "I always said years ago i'd retire from music before 30. I just cant see myself at 30 years old rapping... Made over 20 million off rap. Why be greedy? Im good with everything i accomplished. I made it to the white house."

Bow Wow says he'll make one last album, which will reportedly be produced by his mentor, Snoop Dogg. "Since he brought me in the game, its only right i involve him and end it with him," Bow Wow said

Snoop Dogg's next hot collaboration is with... Martha Stewart!?

VH1 has announced production on a new cooking show, starring Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart. No, it's not April Fool's Day. You read that right. This is not a joke.

According to Variety, the series will see the Long Beach rapper team up with the East Hampton's favorite DIY hostess, and each week the duo will host a celebrity dinner party and a cooking competition.

It has already been a year since hip hop lost Sean Price. On August 8th, 2015 news of Sean Price's untimely passing sent shock waves through the hip hop world and left us all reeling in sorrow.

Wyclef Announces New Album, J'ouvert

Fresh off of releasing his latest single, “Hendrix,” Wyclef Jean has announced his intention to release a new EP called J'ouvert. Scheduled for a September 30th release date, the EP is named after the start of Carnival in the Eastern Caribbean.

“My goal for J’ouvert was to pick up where I left off after ‘Sweetest Girl’ and [Shakira’s] ‘Hips Don’t Lie,'” said Jean in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. “I had these Caribbean sonics haunting my brain and I knew this EP would be the start to what would become the Carnival 3 album.”

D'Angelo's Former Manager And Producer Found Dead

As initially reported by Okayplayer, Dominique Trenier, D'Angelo's former manager and producer, was found dead in his Los Angeles home on Friday, August 5. Known for his work  with D'Angelo on the R&B singer’s 2000 magnum opus, Voodoo,Trenier was listed as an executive producer for the album. He also directed the music video for “Untitled (How Does It Feel?)” alongside Paul Hunter. Other credits include executive producer on the soundtrack for Space Jam and Mark Ronson's debut album, 2003’s Here Comes the Fuzz.

Return of "Summertime"

Will Smith recently gave the audience on Stephen Colbert's Late Show a surprise throwback treat by performing "Summertime" live for the first time in years.

Smith appeared on the talk show to promote his new movie, Suicide Squad, which stars Smith as super villain Deadshot, an expert assassin and frequent Batman antagonist.

"Summertime" was originally released by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince in 1991, back when Smith was still releasing music under his "Fresh Prince" alias and his acting career was just starting to take off. The song hit #1 on the U.S. hip hop and R&B charts, was certified Platinum by the RIAA, and earned the duo a Grammy award.
