Raw Poetic Takes Us Back To Hip Hop's Roots With "Ease Side" Ahead of New Album

MC/lyricist Jason Moore and guitarist P-Fritz—collectively known as Raw Poetic—hav announced their next album, Away Back Out, with a taste of the project titled "Ease Side." The album follows the 2022 releases of Laminated Skies and Space Beyond The Solar System, and further brings their fusion of Hip Hop, jazz and garage rock into focus. Production by frequent collaborator Damu the Fudgemunk is the cherry on top.

Marcey Yates Shines A Light On Omaha Hip Hop With "On Display" Single

Omaha-based artist Marcey Yates has returned with a new single called "On Display," which serves as the inaugural track from his forthcoming album, Chocolate For Water. 

'"On Display' is a story about being in the public eye, reaching new goals and riding the wave and the music business," Yates explained in a statement. "The song speaks on the journey of happiness, disappointment and new relationships."

MF DOOM's Widow Discloses Hip Hop Legend's Cause Of Death

MF DOOM’s wife, Jasmine Dumile, has finally revealed what led to the rap legend’s 2020 death. Speaking to Leeds Live, Dumile explained her husband was seeking treatment at St. James Hospital in Leeds for a number of conditions, including high blood pressure and kidney disease. There, she said, his health “suddenly deteriorated.” While under a doctor’s care, DOOM was prescribed ACE inhibitors to treat his high blood pressure. After just two doses, Dumile said his tongue and throat began to swell.

MC Eiht Announces 30th Anniversary Celebration Of "Menace II Society"

MC Eiht has announced a special 30th anniversary celebration of the film, Menace II Society. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (June 28), the Compton's Most Wanted rapper shared a flyer for the event with the caption, "GEAH." According to the flyer, the soirée takes place in Cleveland, Ohio on August 5 with special performances by MC Eiht and Spice 1. Tyrin Turner—who played "Caine" in the film—will serve as host.

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's Old Stomping Grounds To Be Renamed "Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Way"

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony will be in Cleveland on Friday (August 11), where the intersection of E. 99th Street and St. Clair Avenue will be renamed to “Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Way." Organized by the Spread the Love Foundation, Cleveland City Councilman Anthony Hairston and Ward 10, the street-naming ceremony takes place from noon to 2 p.m. local time.

Following the street-naming ceremony, Bone Thugs is expected to perform at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later that evening. On Saturday (August 12), the group will hit the stage during the Glenville Festival at Sam Miller Park before joining LL COOL J’s The F.O.R.C.E. Tour at the Rocket Mortgage Field House.
