Ice-T Announces Next Body Count Album "Merciless" Is (Almost) Done

Ice-T is so much more than Detective Odafin Tutualdo on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Not only is he a pioneering gangsta rapper, but he's also frontman for the heavy metal band Body Count. The Grammy Award-winning band has released seven albums, beginning with 1992's self-titled debut and, more recently, 2020's Carnivore.

On Monday (May 1), Ice-T revealed Body Count is mere months away from dropping their next album, Merciless. As he explained on Instagram, "FYI... I just finished the final Vocals for the NEW @bodycountofficial album 'MERCILESS' this weekend.. Now the album just has to be mixed.. Stay Tuned.. Coming soon!"

Kool Keith's "Black Elvis 2" Album Essentially Reunites The Analog Brothers

Kool Keith has announced his next album, Black Elvis 2, will arrive June 16 via Mello Music Group. The 16-track project includes a song called "The Formula" featuring Ice-T and Marc Live who happen to be members of The Analog Brothers. Needless to say, it's at least a partial reunion of the experimental Hip Hop group. Formed in 2000, the lineup initially consisted of Black Silver, Ice-T, Kool Keith, Marc Live and Pimp Rex. They released two early projects together, including 2000's Pimp To Eat

As for Black Elvis 2, additional guests include Raaddrr Van, Dynamite, L’Orange, J. Stylez and Agallah. Speaking to RAPstation's Kyle Eustice in 2017, Kool Keith talked about why he keeps his collaborators limited.

Deltron 3030 Reuniting For Wu-Tang Clan & Run The Jewels Show

Del The Funky Homosapien, Dan The Automator and Kid Koala—collectively known as Deltron 3030—will reunite for a show featuring the Wu-Tang Clan and Run The Jewels later this fall. Produced by AEG Presents, the show takes place at Fiddler's Green Amphitheater in Denver, Colorado on September 8. In a recent interview with Rock The Bells, Del The Funky Homosapien teased the possibility of new Deltron 3030 music and revealed what he’d do differently.

LL COOL J Announces "THE F.O.R.C.E. LIVE" With The Roots, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Z-Trip + More

LL COOL J has announced The F.O.R.C.E. Live, a 24-date arena run co-produced by Rock The Bells and Live Nation Urban. Special guests include DJ Jazzy Jeff, The Roots and LL COOL J's longtime tour DJ, Z-Trip. KRS-One Takes Over The Birthplace Of Hip Hop For 50th Anniversary

KRS-One has announced he's taking over the official birthplace of Hip Hop—1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx—the same building Kool Herc and his sister Cindy Campbell threw their iconic Back To School jam on August 11, 1973. He's also launched a new website, BirthplaceofHipHop.NYC, that will keep fans up to date on the celebratory events. 

Beginning later this year, the veteran MC will lead a series of community-based programs at The 1520 Community Center, including a masterclass in Hip Hop. Killer Mike Announces First Solo Album In More Than A Decade With "Don't Let The Devil" Featuring El-P

Killer Mike has announced his first new solo album in more than 10 years, Michael. The project serves as the follow-up to 2012's R.A.P. Music, which loosely served as the introduction to Run The Jewels, Mike's longtime duo with Company Flow MC/producer El-P. Coinciding with the announcement is the release of the album's inaugural single, "Don't Let The Devil" featuring El-P and Thankyougoodsir. Production duties are handled by El-P, No I.D. and Little Shalimar.
