The feud going on between Meek Mill and Drake stemmed from when Mill called out Drake for employing a ghostwriter on his songs. Since then, Drake as performed at OVO Fest in a "Free Meek Mill" shirt, that he obtained a few years ago when Meek Mill was in jail. Mill let loose an onslaught of threats and insults at Drake during a concert a few days ago, saying his Young Money and Cash Money labelmates "don't fuck" with him. Mill even went on to threaten Drake with a wedgie during a freestyle, saying "When I see them n****s, I might give them n****s a fucking wedgie." Pharrell is set to face protests during his South African tour over the next few months from a pro-Palestinian group that opposes his partnership with Woolworths, a major retailer in the country that has trade ties with Israel. The South African branch of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions --a movement opposed to the Israeli occupation of Palestine -- is primarily upset about Pharrell's involvement in Woolworths' "Are You With Us" campaign. Kanye West performed at the Pan Am Games closing ceremony in Toronto on Sunday night (July 26th), but ended his set suddenly due to technical difficulties. West's scheduled performance had received some backlash, with a petition of over 50,00 signatures being circulated to prevent him from performing. Sandra Bland was a 28-year-old Chicago woman who was arrested in Texas and found dead in her jail cell three days later. Bland's death has sparked even more conversation around the topic of police brutality, it's even added to the ongoing national outcry on and offline, including hashtags like #JusticeForSandraBland, #IfIDieInPoliceCustody, and #SayHerName.
