Atlanta-born trap artist T.I., rap icon Queen Latifah, and the multi-faced talent Mike Epps team up in the upcoming indie film, The Trap. The movie is said to be directed by Chris Robinson, who debuted in the box offices with hit film ATL back in 2006, which also starred T.I.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere from Flavor Unit Entertainment will play significant roles in the film’s production, along with Epps and Naptown Productions’ Niles Kirchner.

Tip Harris, better known as T.I., will also be producing with partner Brian Sher, under the flags of his own Grand Hustle Films franchise, along with Robinson taking part in the film’s creative design. Veteran producer Jesse Collins is scheduled to executive produce when filming begins fall of this year.

The project is said to have originated from a story Epps designed while working with producer and writer Nile Evans, better known for the 2009 film For the Love of Ray J, and School Dance of 2014. It was Evans who began writing the script.

The Trap’s plot revolves around a man (T.I.) returning to his hometown of Atlanta in hopes of seeking out his brother (Epps), and opting to revive the family’s ramshackle restaurant. The brothers encounter unexpected progress when a new chicken recipe is introduced, which, however, also leads to some unexpected mishaps.

The film introduces the first team-up between Epps and Harris; On the other hand, audiences will also witness the returning partnership of the trap star and Robinson.
