Suspect Arrested In Takeoff's Murder, Police Say Migos Rapper "Was An Innocent Bystander"

Houston police have arrested a suspect in the murder of Migos rapper Takeoff. According to CNN, Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was taken into custody on Thursday evening (December 1). Another man, Cameron Joshua, 22, was charged with the unlawful carrying of a weapon. Houston Police Department Chief Troy Finner announced the arrest at a news conference on Friday (December 2).

“The event was a private party, there was a lucrative dice game that went on at the event, there was an argument that happened afterwards outside the bowling alley which led to the shooting,” Sgt. Michael Burrow said. "I can tell you Takeoff was not involved in playing the dice game, he was not involved in the argument outside, he was not armed, he was an innocent bystander."

Takeoff was shot and killed outside a downtown bowing alley on November 1 after a private party. Officers said a crowd of approximately 40 or 50 people were present when the shooting took place. Takeoff was pronounced dead at the scene, while fellow Migos member Quavo was unharmed. Two other people were shot and taken to the hospital.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner added, “I will say that too many young men — and I will be more specific and say too many young men of color —are killing other young men. This has to stop.” This is a developing story.
