Happy Birthday A$AP Ferg!

Rostered under the prominent A$AP Mob, and recognized for his efforts as a solo artist, this day in Hip-hop recognizes the birth of Darold Ferguson Jr, aka A$AP Ferg.

Born in Harlem, New York, Ferg portrayed no stranger to rap but set music aside to pursue other things. But in every pursuit Ferg handled, many noticed his “impeccable hustle game”, one of which being long-time friend A$AP Rocky, who consistently pushed Ferg to take his hustle game towards rapping, to which, Ferg eventually relented.

Donning the A$AP moniker, Ferg's hustle game became evident through various collaborative singles, such as “Get High” and “Kissin' Pink”, as well as “Ghetto Symphony” featured on Rocky's breakout debut Long. Live. A$AP in 2013.

“Trapping means hustling,” explained Ferg, “I went from painting to making clothes to rapping. I always put myself into everything I do one hundred percent. It doesn't matter what I'm working on. I want to perfect everything I do. Success is the only option. They call me 'Trap Lord' because my hustle game is impeccable.”

A$AP Ferg released his official solo debut in 2012 with the single “Work”, which rapidly gained two million views online, also snatching a spot on Complex Magazine's “50 Best Songs of 2012”. With his debut single featured on the A$AP Mob mixtape, Lords Never Worry, Ferg's debut record came in the form of his 2013 album Trap Lord, which debuted #9 on the Billboard 200. Ferg released his sophomore album Always Strive and Prosper early 2016, and debuted #8 off the familiar chart.
