Nigerian rapper MCskill ThaPreacha recently released a new video titled “Beats and Rhymes (Episode 1).” The video functions as the first installment in a hip hop series, also titled Beats and Rhymes, on which the rapper is working. The series will act as not only a platform for the rapper to promote himself and his own Supernatural brand, but also as a way for unknown artists to gain exposure.
The new video, “Beates and Rhymes (Episode 1),” features MCskill ThaPreach rapping over a boom bap-inspired instrumental produced by Stromatique. The beat is largely driven by a plucked, minor key bass line which sits atop the boom bap drum pattern. Occasional synthesizer and organ flourishes pepper the beat, however, the track is largely propelled MCskill ThaPreacha, who raps for over a minute before the song abruptly comes to an end.
The song has already generated a substantial amount of buzz both home and abroad. In addition to the Beats and Rhymes project, MCskill ThaPreacha is also finishing up his album, Diary of a Supernatural.
