Lauryn Hill is currently scheduled to go on a cross-country tour this fall. According to Okayplayer, she'll be performing 17 shows across North America, with the first one scheduled for August 27th in Philadelphia and the last one for November 13th in Phoenix.
This should come as exciting news for fans of the hip hop songstress. Few artists in hip hop history can lay claim to a body of work as impressive as Ms. Hill's. Her unique combination of rapping and singing helped launch The Fugees to stardom as their album The Score went on to become a cultural landmark. Her ensuing solo work only solidified her position as an immensely skilled artist.
Despite her abounding musical talent, though, Lauryn Hill has developed a reputation for being somewhat flaky with regards to her live performances. She recently made fans in Atlanta wait over two hours for her to come on stage, and she also canceled a recent Baltimore show. Additionally, she was supposedly scheduled to perform with The Weeknd at The Grammy's, but she was unable to show up. She did, however, make up for her no-show by performing with The Weeknd on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
