With a long-history of finding, developing and cultivating new talent (Little Brother, Defari, Dilated Peoples, Planet Asia etc), ABB Records unveils the first video, "OJ OK," from their latest discovery, KNS Tha Engineer.
Operating out of NY, NY, with a background spanning classic jazz arrangements to the latest hip-hop classics, KNS Tha Engineer works with the music industry's leading talents as a commanding triple-threat; engineer, producer and artist.
Growing up on the streets of Chicago's South Side, a young musician named Kenny Lloyd felt a powerful pull in an unknown direction. It was not until his time at Vicennes University, where he recorded original tracks for himself and other local artists, that his direction became clear. Honing his unique taste and style, those sessions pinpointed his dreams, lighting the fire and forging KNS Tha Engineer in its flames.
The drive to hone his craft from the ground up led KNS to Full Sail University, where he augmented his computer programming degree with a certification in audio engineering. Shortly, afterwards, KNS relocated to NYC at Sony Music Studios. Though Sony closed it doors a few years later, KNS had already earned a reputation initially through his sessions with Cassidy and Drag-on.
Always staying ahead of the game, KNS realized he needed to strike while the iron was hot and began to pursue his own artistic career. KNS now records, produces and engineer's the city's newest cutting-edge artists, amassing them under his own label Mushroom Gang Music. In addition to working on his own debut project for ABB, KNS has also recently worked with Snoop Dogg, Styles P, Black Eyed Peas, Keyshia Cole, Bow Wow, Swizz Beatz, Cassidy and Mario.
