Kanye West had previously hinted that the follow up to his 2013 album 'Yeezus' could arrive this year, but has failed to actually appear despite the release of his song 'All Day' in March.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, West describes 'Swish' as a "two year painting" and readily admits that he could potentially still be working on the album in another 12 months.
"I've been doing that (making a new album) too," he said. "That's like a sonic landscape, a two-year painting."
West has already debuted another new song, 'Fade' at a New York Fashion Week event, another track that he's been working on for some time apparently. "That song I played has been a year and a half in the making and it may be still a year from being complete," West says. "But it was to let people get a glimpse at the painting."
The New York Fashion Week show saw West face criticism after announcing a last-minute show that clashed with many other designers. Apologizing for it, West told Vanity Fair: "A lot of times I feel like Will Ferrell in the movie Elf. You know this big guy that wants to (join in) and his hands are a little bit too big...I could just say please forgive me if I ever step on any toes, because there's nothing that I would ever want to do or say that would take away from any designer, that would take away from anyone's work or what they're working so hard on."
Later in the interview, West said he is "definitely" still running for President in the year 2020, and is opposed to the idea of a traditional election where candidates face off against each other.
"When I run for president, I'd prefer not to run against someone," he said. "I would be like 'I want to work with you.' As soon as I heard [Republican candidate] Ben Carson speak, I tried for three weeks to get on the phone with him. I was like this is the most brilliant guy. And I think all the people running right now have something that each of the others needs. But the idea of this separation and this gladiator battle takes away from the main focus that the world needs help and the world needs all the people in a position of power or influence to come together."
